The Shifting Shadow
- Church is the only institution on earth that can genuinely restore hurting people. Hence it is the only place where a person may experience true forgiveness and heeling of his soul. Yet it did not happen to Brother Paul. He has been suffering with a particular problem of sin. He has been thinking of going to one of the elders of the church to get some help. But some how or the other he has not been able to gather the courage that he needs. He knew he needed to take care of this sin problem.
- But church is moving toward a higher direction. They have just introduced a new Men's Club, which meets every Friday morning for prayer (and breakfast). Paul needed something like this, where he can just be himself. Where he can share with other 'like' human beings who share in the same sinful nature as he is. He desperately needed a place where people could truly understand his struggle against sin.
- That morning, as he got up to go for the fellowship, he was excited. He was half-hour early. As brothers began to come he greeted them with great excitement. First it was breakfast; he could hardly eat it. He was hearing every body chat about various things; some one was moving to a new house, a great hunting experience, and problems with the local school district and so on. Then finally came the time he was so eagerly waiting for.
- Brother Sam got up and invited everyone to share a praise and a prayer item. Paul was sitting at the end. It was good because that will give his some time to catch up some courage to be able to share his problem. As men began to share their victories, he was happy to realize that there was hope for him. But as the sharing progressed, he realized that he did not know what they were talking about. And during the prayer requests, it was not about their problems but about other people's sin problems. He could only feel smaller and smaller.
- By the time his turn came
he knew it for sure that his sin problem would be the
biggest sin they would be hearing for a long time.
- He had to quietly slip out from there before his turn came.
- Recent Update: Brother Paul found peace which only comes through the crimson flow on the calvary.
- The purpose of this site is to provide help and encouragement to people like Paul, who are not able to openly share their problems.
